Kansas Wetlands Education Center – IV

On one of my recent visits (late-April to early-May 2014), the shallow edges of the east pool were being swarmed by a small army of elementary students wearing their regulation black rubber boots.

I didn’t watch too closely, but I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the short boots were filled with water from overtopping by the enthused students.  While the students were happily splashing around in the pool with the KWEC staff instructors, most of the teachers seemed to be content to watch from the sidelines.

As always, after the fun is over, someone has to do the dirty work – in this case washing boots.

More later.
